Apesar disso, ele \u00e9 <strong>considerado um nutriente essencial<\/strong> por estar diretamente relacionado ao <strong>bom funcionamento de algumas prote\u00ednas<\/strong> que atuam em processos bioqu\u00edmicos importantes do corpo humano, como veremos mais adiante.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Esse mineral est\u00e1 presente na maioria das frutas e verduras<\/strong>, sendo naturalmente ingerido pelas pessoas que consomem alimentos in natura por via oral regularmente<sup>1<\/sup>. Pessoas que recebem alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o por via intravenosa, entretanto, dependem de uma composi\u00e7\u00e3o de macro e micronutrientes equilibrada. Por isso, h\u00e1 f\u00f3rmulas dedicadas a pacientes em <a href=\"https:\/\/lam.unitedforclinicalnutrition.com\/pt-br\/vantagens-da-nutricao-parenteral-pronta-para-uso\/\">alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o parenteral<\/a> total que incluem o molibd\u00eanio em baixas doses.<\/p>\n<h2>Papel do molibd\u00eanio<\/h2>\n<p>Mesmo hoje sendo considerado um elemento tra\u00e7o, a import\u00e2ncia do moibd\u00eanio s\u00f3 foi evidenciada na d\u00e9cada de 1950. Ele passou a ser considerado um oligoelemento essencial quando se descobriu que participava de processos importantes do metabolismo humano.<sup>2<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Normalmente, o <strong>molibd\u00eanio encontra-se ligado a prote\u00ednas tanto no sangue quanto em tecidos<\/strong><sup><strong>1<\/strong><\/sup><strong>.<\/strong> As maiores concentra\u00e7\u00f5es do mineral s\u00e3o encontradas no f\u00edgado, nos rins e na gl\u00e2ndula suprarrenal, e as menores, na pele, no es\u00f4fago, na traqueia, na aorta, no \u00fatero e na bexiga<sup>2<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Sabe-se que o molibd\u00eanio atua como cofator de pelo menos quatro enzimas.<sup>2<\/sup> Confira a seguir:<\/p>\n<h3>Sulfito oxidase<\/h3>\n<p>A sulfito oxidase catalisa a rea\u00e7\u00e3o terminal na degrada\u00e7\u00e3o dos amino\u00e1cidos sulfurados. A defici\u00eancia gen\u00e9tica da sulfito oxidase resulta em anormalidades neurol\u00f3gicas e frequentemente leva \u00e0 morte em idade precoce.<sup>2,3<\/sup><\/p>\n<h3>Xantina oxidase<\/h3>\n<p>A xantina oxidase catalisa a oxida\u00e7\u00e3o de purinas em \u00e1cido \u00farico.<sup>2 <\/sup>Ela est\u00e1 presente no leite e em muitos outros tecidos e vem sendo estudada h\u00e1 mais de 100 anos, sendo que sua complexidade estrutural e distribui\u00e7\u00e3o de tecidos especializados sugerem outras fun\u00e7\u00f5es que nunca foram totalmente identificadas, como a capacidade de gerar esp\u00e9cies reativas de oxig\u00eanio e \u00f3xido n\u00edtrico.<sup>4<\/sup><\/p>\n<h3>Alde\u00eddo oxidase<\/h3>\n<p>A alde\u00eddo oxidase est\u00e1 envolvida no metabolismo de v\u00e1rios\u00a0compostos\u00a0N-heteroc\u00edclicos\u00a0end\u00f3genos e ex\u00f3genos de import\u00e2ncia farmacol\u00f3gica e toxicol\u00f3gica. Essa enzima \u00e9 o produto de um gene que est\u00e1 implicado na etiopatog\u00eanese da esclerose lateral amiotr\u00f3fica recessiva familiar.<sup>5<\/sup><\/p>\n<h3>Amidoxima mitocondrial<\/h3>\n<p>O componente redutor de amidoxima mitocondrial (mARC) foi descoberto recentemente. Est\u00e1 presente de forma abundante no f\u00edgado e nos rins e acredita-se que partcipa da desintoxica\u00e7\u00e3o de substratos N-hidroxilados.<sup>2<\/sup><\/p>\n<h2>Defici\u00eancia de molibd\u00eanio<\/h2>\n<p>Como vimos, o molibd\u00eanio \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio para diversas fun\u00e7\u00f5es do organismo. <strong>A eventual falta desse nutriente pode levar ao preju\u00edzo da atividade das enzimas <\/strong>que dependem desse metal como cofator<sup>6<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>A defici\u00eancia de molibd\u00eanio, no entanto, \u00e9 rara, j\u00e1 que ele est\u00e1 presente em diversos alimentos. Por\u00e9m, ela j\u00e1 foi observada em paciente submetido \u00e0 nutri\u00e7\u00e3o parenteral total prolongada para o tratamento de doen\u00e7a de Crohn, que apresentou sinais cl\u00ednicos como irritabilidade, taquicardia, taquipneia (respira\u00e7\u00e3o acelerada) e cegueira noturna.<sup>7<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Os sintomas da defici\u00eancia no mineral podem ocorrer com maior frequ\u00eancia em beb\u00eas. Nesse caso, eles apresentam uma anomalia gen\u00e9tica que os impede de sintetizar o molibd\u00eanio, levando \u00e0 falta da enzima sulfito oxidase.
